WHAT IS FAIR HOUSING?

Fair Housing: It's Your Right

In Marin County your right to equal opportunity housing is protected at both the state and Federal levels through laws that say no one may be denied the right to rent or own a home on the basis of their race or color, national origin, religion, gender, family, disability, sexual orientation, source of income, and arbitrary reasons such as age. These so-called "Fair Housing" laws also provide solutions if your rights are denied, as well as guidelines that help the housing industry effectively do its work.
